So here are some very basic mobile phones for children that can be bought for as little as 90p and make a perfect present for young ones or can be used as a spare. Great little phones with basic sms/text and call features, basic camera and polyphonic ringtones. All phones come with decent batteries sustaining 6 hours talk time and hundreds of hours of stand by time and some even have internet browsing (wap enabled)

Yes, Really! this Nokia 1650 phone is indeed available from £4.95 and if you buy it on Virgin Network for £6.95 you get 1000 free texts. This is a payg phone so it will be perfect for someone who just wants the basic functions of a mobile phone without all the gimmicks, and built sat navs and mp3 players, and other things that modern phones do except the basic function of calling and texting (too harsh? may be just a bit!). Would I buy it you ask? Yes I would if I didnt already have 2 very cheap payg phones lying about for emergencies, personally I always keep more than one handsets in case the battery dies on one. I also plan to do cheap and budget phones blog entry later on this week which will feature all the phones under £50 so watch out the space.

Now I am not sure what more you might expect from a phone that costs £4.95 but just for the sake of it I will write down all the features of this phone:

128 x 160 pixel display

65K Colours

One Touch shortcut keys for SMS messaging

Themes

Wallpapers

SMS

EMS

Polyphonic ringtones

Downloadable ringtones

Headset connector: standard 2.5 mm AV IF

Flashlight

FM radio (even my cheap phones dont have this!)

Personal Budget manager (perfect for credit crunch eh!)

Games

Voice memo

Built-in Handsfree

Contacts

Organiser

Countdown timer

Stopwatch

8MB user memory (now I am just annoyed, my cheap phones have memory less than this and I paid 20 for it)

>> GO TO DEAL <<
